2017, 29 November: start of the RIVM and CBG project

On 29 November 2017 the construction of the new housing of the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the Medicines Evaluation Board (CBG) in Utrecht, Netherlands officially started.

This important total package project performed by Franki Grondtechnieken, the Dutch subsidiary of Franki Foundations covers the execution of a wide range of different deep foundation techniques.

In designing the foundations of the buildings engineers had find the adequate solutions guaranteeing the strict requirements related the use of sophisticated, low-vibration laboratory equipment.

Overview of the foundation activities on site:

·         4971 m2 cutter soil mix wall

·         500 l m concrete beam

·         198 self-drilling anchors

·         73 large diameter bored piles diameter under thixotropic fluid (Ø 1850 mm, L 60 m)

·         14.177 m2 horizontal soil injection at a depth of 7 m (BE Inject)

·         Cutting off new and existing piles, earth-moving works and water table lowering
